What better way to prepare for your team to play in Ireland than by visiting the country beforehand! Coach Norvell was able to get an idea of how College Football will take over Dublin this August when Florida State University kickoff their 2024 season against Georgia Tech from Dublin.

This was Coach Norvell's first time in Ireland and it was a busy trip full of fun activities. First off, Coach headed to the Aviva Stadium, which will host the 2024 Aer Lingus Classic and has become the home of College Football in recent years as it also hosted games in 2012, 2016, 2022 and last year's sell-out fixture in 2023! The Seminole's Head Coach was blown away by the stadium's unique design and was envisioning the Warchant circulating the stadium this August.

After our visit to the Aviva Stadium, we headed to the radio studio where Coach spoke with Ger Gilroy on Off The Ball and Matt Cooper on The Last Word.

Whilst in Ireland, Coach Norvell also spoke to our friends at the Nat Coombs Show, you can watch the interview HERE.

Irish Wolfhounds Meeting

American Football is growing in popularity here in Ireland, and Coaches from Ireland's National team, the Irish Wolfhounds, were able to explain the history and the current development of American football in Ireland to Coach Norvell. Meanwhile, Coach gave the Irish Wolfhounds some coaching tips along with a few words of wisdom as the Irish Wolfhounds embark on their 2024 season.

The final stop on Coach's trip to Ireland was the Guinness Six Nations Championship fixture between Ireland and Scotland. Seeing a full-capacity Aviva Stadium took Coach Norvell's breath away, and a 'full house' is certainly something we hope to replicate this August at our game!

At halftime, Coach Norvell took a trip to the sideline, where he'll be calling plays from in just a few month's time! It was a great game for Coach to experience as Ireland were crowned Champions of the the Six Nations Championship with a convincing win over Scotland.

FSU Head Coach Mike Norvell said: "To be on this stage, the first game in College Football, you can feel the excitement within our fan base. They're ready to come and take over the streets of Dublin and represent Florida State University, it's going to be a truly special experience."
