The Games
We are now accepting teams to compete in the Global Ireland Football Tournament (G.I.F.T.) on Friday, August 28, 2026. Be part of the thrill and excitement of bringing high school American football to Ireland and providing an experience your student-athletes won't soon forget.
Since 2012, the Global Ireland Football Tournament (G.I.F.T.) has brought more than 30 visiting teams to Ireland, thrilling local fans with unforgettable international matchups. The 2025 edition carried on that tradition, featuring five U.S. high school teams in official competition.
The weekend kicked off with spirited football action and gave student-athletes the chance to experience Dublin’s vibrant sporting culture both on and off the field.
Teams in Action:
Beyond the games, the visiting athletes joined together for a lively pep rally, celebrated achievements at an awards banquet, and capped the trip with a memorable experience at the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Aviva Stadium.
The G.I.F.T. Showcase once again proved to be more than just competition—it was a cultural exchange, a celebration of youth sports, and a highlight for both the teams and the Irish fans who welcomed them.
High school football athletic directors and coaches are invited to travel overseas with their football teams for a competitive game against an American opponent. Schools are encouraged to bring their high school bands, cheerleaders and teams from other sports such as field hockey, rugby and lacrosse.
